Two teenagers are in hospital after a student allegedly stabbed the other at a Perth school.
Emergency services were called to Carine senior high school about 10am on Thursday.
A boy and girl, aged 15 and 16, suffered non-life-threatening injuries during the incident which involved an “edged weapon”.
“One student inflicted injuries against the other,” Western Australia police alleged. Paramedics took the girl to Perth children’s hospital and the boy was transported to Royal Perth hospital.
“Both students are with police and currently receiving medical treatment,” a police spokesman said.
“There is no threat to the school or the wider community, the situation is contained.”
The Department of Education is working with police “to resolve some sensitive and complex issues involved with this incident”.
