COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Tessa Johnson had a career-high 16 points and MiLaysia Fulwiley scored 14 as No. 1 South Carolina made easy work of overmatched Morgan State 104-38 on Wednesday night.
The Gamecocks improved to 8-0 for the third straight season.
South Carolina had six players in double figures, with Te-Hina Paopao and Raven Johnson scoring 12 apiece and Kamilla Cardoso and Sania Feagin each finishing with 10.
Chloe Kitts had a game-high 14 rebounds, the best performance of her career.
Tarmaria Rumph had 11 points to lead Morgan State (3-6).
NO. 4 IOWA 67, IOWA STATE 58
AMES, Iowa (AP) — Caitlin Clark scored 35 points but it was her passing that helped fourth-ranked Iowa pull away from rival Iowa State and secure the win.
The Hawkeyes (9-1) were trailing 55-54 midway through the fourth quarter, before Clark made a pair of nifty assists to Kate Martin, who converted them into layups that gave Iowa the lead with just over 3 minutes remaining.
Audi Crooks led the Cyclones (4-4) with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
It was the fourth time this season Clark has scored 30 or more points. She finished with nine rebounds and five assists. Martin finished with 16 points.
NO. 13 KANSAS STATE 101, MCNEESE STATE 39
MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) — Gabby Gregory scored 16 points, Ayoka Lee added 15 and Kansas State coasted to a win over McNeese State.
Gisela Sanchez added 12 points, eight rebounds and four blocks for the Wildcats (8-1). Brylee Glenn had 11 points and five steals. Gregory surpassed 1,500 points for her career.
Alva Mofalk and Emily Tenbrock both had 10 points for the Cowgirls (3-6), who shot 26%, were outrebounded 58-27 and had 24 turnovers.
NO. 14 NOTRE DAME 96, LAFAYETTE 42
SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) — Hannah Hidalgo scored 26 points, Maddy Westbeld had 17 points and 10 rebounds, and Notre Dame dismantled Lafayette.
Hidalgo, a freshman guard, is the sixth leading scorer in the nation, averaging 23.3 points per game coming in. She also had six rebounds and four assists. Kylee Watson added 14, Natalija Marshall had 12 and Anna DeWolfe scored 10 for Notre Dame (7-1).
Halee Smith led Lafayette (4-5) with 10 points.
NO. 15 VIRGINIA TECH 98, LONG ISLAND 50
BLACKSBURG, Va. (AP) — Cayla King scored 21 points, Elizabeth Kitley and Georgia Amoore had double-doubles and Virginia Tech coasted to a win over Long Island.
King had seven 3-pointers and the Hokies went 17 of 35, one short of the school record for made 3s.
Kitley had 17 points and 10 rebounds. Amoore had 10 points and 14 assists, surpassing 500 for her career, as the Hokies had 30 helpers on 37 baskets.
Freshman Carys Baker added a career-best 18 points, Matilda Ekh had 13 and Clara Strack 11 for the Hokies (6-2).
Mariah Elohim scored 11 points for the Sharks (1-8) and Ashley Austin had 10.
NO. 17 UCONN 90, BALL STATE 63
STORRS, Conn. (AP) — Aaliyah Edwards scored 18 points and grabbed 12 rebounds and a 37-point first quarter propelled No. 17 Connecticut over Ball State.
Freshman Ashlynn Shade added 17 points, a career best, for the Huskies (5-3). Paige Bueckers scored 15 and Aubrey Griffin had 14. Edwards also had three assists, three steals and two blocks while shooting 8 of 11.
Madelyn Bischoff had 12 points to lead the Cardinals (6-2), whose other loss was to No. 14 Notre Dame.
UConn senior Nika Muhl scored four points and her sophomore sister Hana had nine off the bench for Ball State and their parents were there, visiting from Croatia.
NO. 24 NORTH CAROLINA 81, UNC GREENSBORO 66
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) — Lexi Donarski scored 22 points and made 6 of 8 3-pointers, Alyssa Ustby added 13 points, and No. 24 North Carolina beat UNC Greensboro.
North Carolina (6-3) had six players score in double figures. Deja Kelly and Maria Gakdeng each scored 12, and Nivar and Anya Poole added 11 apiece.
Isys Grady scored 17 points and Kennedy Simpson added 15 for UNC Greensboro (6-3). Simpson made all four of her 3-point attempts in the second quarter as UNCG outscored North Carolina 25-14.
UNCG associate head coach Cetera DeGraffenreid and assistant coach Alex Miller returned to face their alma mater.
