Jessica Zrinski got into a blue Commodore outside a Sydney pub a year ago and was seen being driven towards the Blue Mountains. She hasn’t been heard from since.

On Wednesday, New South Wales police offered a $500,000 reward for information regarding her disappearance and released CCTV footage of then 30-year-old in the vehicle.

“Living life without my baby girl Jess has been the most difficult pain I’ve ever had to endure,” Jessica’s mother, Michelle Barton, said in a statement issued by police. “I’ve loved her for her whole life and I’ll miss her for the rest of mine.”

Zrinski was last in contact with her family at about 10pm on 27 November 2022 from the Bossley Park area in Sydney’s west. Police were alerted to her disappearance a few days later on 3 December.

Detectives discovered Zrinksi had been in the car park of a hotel at Greenfield Park at about 10pm on Monday 28 November before leaving in a blue Holden Commodore station wagon about 10 minutes later.

Investigators say the car travelled west on the M4 motorway and Great Western Highway towards the Blue Mountains.

The CCTV footage released on Wednesday shows Zrinksi in the car which was seen travelling through Horsley Park at about 10.15pm and then Mount Victoria the next morning – Tuesday – at about 8.50am.

Anyone who may have seen the car at those times was urged to contact police.

NSW homicide squad commander Danny Doherty said he believed “there are still people out there who have vital information about Jessica’s movements on the day she was last seen” that “could help solve this case”.

“We want to speak to those people to enable detectives to provide some much-needed answers for Jessica’s loved ones,” he said on Wednesday.

At the time Zrinksi was reported missing, officers from Fairfield City police conducted extensive inquiries before Strikeforce Keder detectives took over the investigation.

Detectives reportedly seized the Holden Commodore for forensic examination in January but the driver was unable to help police with their inquiries.

“What happened a year ago would still feel like yesterday for Jessica’s family and the people who loved her,” the NSW police minister, Yasmin Catley, said on Wednesday.

“As police continue their quest for truth, I ask anyone who has information about this case to come forward and assist police – before they come knocking on your door.”

Barton vowed she would never stop looking for her daughter.

“All I can hope is there is someone out there who can help us find Jess so we – her family and friends – can lay her to rest and say our goodbyes.”
